This course is an advanced
seminar on the formulation and implementation of peacebuilding
policy. It aims to provide students with a detailed understanding of
the different areas of activity in which post-conflict actors are
involved. It also aims to situate the analysis of these policies
within broader reflections on the transition from war to peace,
Western intervention in civil wars in the South, and the
effectiveness of contemporary peacebuilding techniques. By the end of
the course, students should have a solid knowledge of post-conflict
politics and the tools to analyse this type of situation. They should
be prepared to pursue further study or to work as practitioners.
