This course introduces the main tools of matrix calculus and linear algebra used in economics and quantitative analysis. Students will learn how to solve systems of linear equations with Gaussian elimination, work with matrices, understand rank and invertibility, and use vector spaces, bases, dimensions, and linear maps to describe economic and mathematical problems.
