Dear International Undergraduate Students,
I hope you are all doing well.
I would like to share an important update regarding tuition fees and clarify how this decision applies to you.
1. Exemption for Non-EU Students (Licence Cycle)
The Board of Administration has approved the continuation of the partial exemption from differentiated tuition fees for non-EU students already enrolled at Paris 1 in 2025–2026.
This means that non-EU students currently enrolled will continue to pay the national tuition rates until the end of their current academic cycle (Licence or Master), including in the case of repeating a year.
As students enrolled in the International Undergraduate Program (Licence cycle), you will therefore continue to benefit from national tuition rates until the completion of your Bachelor’s degree, provided you remain within the same cycle.
In addition, non-EU students who take a gap year (césure) will not be required to pay differentiated tuition fees during that period.
2. Important: Fiscal Registration in France (for Future Studies)
If you are considering pursuing a Master’s degree or potentially a PhD in France in the future, I strongly encourage you to complete the necessary fiscal registration in France as students.
Having France as your fiscal residence may be particularly important later on, especially for those who wish to pursue PhD studies (3rd cycle), as eligibility for reduced doctoral tuition fees may depend in part on having fiscal residence in France for the two years preceding the start of the PhD.
It is therefore wise to ensure that your fiscal situation is properly established during your studies in France.
3. CVEC and Increased Social Support
The university has also approved a new financial allocation of the CVEC (Student and Campus Life Contribution) for 2026, significantly strengthening social support for students.
The budget dedicated to student social aid (FSDIE – aide sociale) has been substantially increased, along with the creation of an additional social aid fund. This reflects the university’s commitment to supporting students facing financial challenges.
