Dear Students,
I have just read your feedback on the classes, which on the whole seem to be going reasonably well. The main suggestions are:
1/ the structrure of the classes should be clearer, including the chronology of events and clearer takeouts;
2/ reading indications before each class;
3/ more interaction (based on the reading, etc.).
I think this covers the key points.
Therefore, please find here ChatGPT generated timelines for the "West" and the other major regions of the world. They are pretty good.
You can also find this file in the first, introductory section of the course on the Epi.
We will have a class quiz on this :)
Then, for the next class, please read Ferraro on Dependency Theory, and Banerjee & Duflo on "How Poverty Ends" (you should be able to access these with no problem.
Kind regards,
Nicholas Sowels
